Buckle up! The season is ready to go!
Val Thorens: A Grand Opening
The WÜRTH MODYF ISMF World Cup season’s inaugural event in Val Thorens will set the stage for what promises to be a spectacular year of Skimo. Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, Val Thorens provides the perfect backdrop for skimo athletes to showcase their prowess. A Sprint race on Saturday November 25 for elite men and elite women, and a Mixed Relay race on Sunday, November 25, will award the first points for the year rankings.
Following Val Thorens, the Skimo World Cup caravan will journey to six more stops, each presenting a unique set of challenges and breathtaking landscapes, offering a combination of classic Skimo circuit stops and exciting new venues. The series will traverse some of the most stunning ski mountaineering destinations in the world, before closing the season in style in Cortina d’Ampezzo in April, to decide the winners of the Overall title and the different crowns for Sprint, Vertical and Individual.
How to watch?
Of course, the best place to watch a race is onsite, but if you are not able to be there, the International Ski Mountaineering Federation has signed an agreement with the Olympic Channel to stream the ISMF events live on the Olympic Channel via Olympics.com. (Territorial restrictions may apply)
Check the ISMF website and the social media channels for detailed schedule of each race, that you will be able to each live and also on demand.
Fans will have the opportunity to watch at least one day of live action from every World Cup stop throughout the season. On-demand highlights with English commentary and exclusive behind the scenes videos will be accessible at Olympics.com and also on the ISMF social media channels.
