
Excitement and Thrills at the Gran San Bernardo for the Sprint Race
The breathtaking slopes of Crevacol in the Gran San Bernardo Valley set the stage today for the Sprint Race of the ISMF Youth World Cup. Nearly 100 athletes from 14 nations turned this idyllic mountain setting into an arena of pure competition and athletic excellence.
The Under 18 and Under 20 categories were the highlight of the day, showcasing thrilling battles that tested the speed and agility of the young athletes on the dynamic course located in the Arp du Jeu area.
In the U20 Women’s category, Laia Selles Sanchez of Spain claimed victory with an impressive time of 03:48.0. The Czech Republic’s Eva Matejovicova followed just 0.3 seconds behind to take second place, with China’s Yuzhen Cidan completing the podium at +1.2 seconds.
For the U20 Men, China’s Bu Luer secured first place with a time of 03:09.8, narrowly edging out Italy’s Erik Canovi, who finished just 0.3 seconds behind. Yuxin Bi of China took third place, with a gap of 8.0 seconds from the winner.
In the U18 Women’s category, China’s Ani Pumu dominated with a final time of 04:08.1. Italy’s Giorgia Pollini finished in second place at +15.6 seconds, followed by Spain’s Emma Bogonez Martin in third, 23.6 seconds behind the leader.
The U18 Men’s competition was led by China’s Langjia Gongsong, who secured victory with a time of 03:20.6. Norway’s Isak Drøpping finished second at +4.6 seconds, and Spain’s Gil Rocias Sacrest claimed third, just 6.2 seconds behind the winner.
